PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
"Let
the redeemed of the
Lord say so!"

The purpose of the
ChristLight Web Rings is to
link Christian sites that hold up the Light of Christ,
are not ashamed of the Gospel of
Jesus Christ,
and somewhere on the site, they say so! Thus
sites honouring God will be accepted, and sites
not doing so, will not. Why not? Well ...
To put it simply, a church
or ministry must be open to all,
because that is the purpose of a ministry. The ChristLight
Web *SITE* is our ministry site and is open to anyone who
wants to visit, and partake. But the ChristLight Web *RINGS*
are TOOLS for people to travel to find other Christian sites that
hold up the Light of Christ in the darkness of the internet -
where they can also be ministered to, one way or another.
There really is a big difference
between hosting a web ring
of sites on the internet, where people who may be seeking
spiritually should be able to find Christ's Light, or people who are
wounded or just seeking relaxation in Christ's beautiful presence
can travel knowing that's what they will find - and being in a
ministry situation. A ministry must be open to all. But a web ring
that is serving a particular purpose, should serve THAT purpose.
The primary purpose
of our rings is above all to serve God -
not to serve Man. If you wish to be a member of a ring that
leads your visitors indiscriminately to all sorts of sites, you are
in the wrong place. :-)
There are indeed many web rings
that accept all and any sites.
However, the purpose of the ChristLight web ring is to
HOLD UP THE LIGHT OF CHRIST - the rings are not a church, that
all may join (though of course, all VISITORS may explore happily!);
that is not the purpose of this particular web ring set. We want that
people may travel the CL web rings knowing they will only find
sites that honour Christ and hold up His light.
We have a certain responsibility
to ensure that visitors who are
seeking Christ's Light will not end up on an occult site, or anything
else that dishonours Christ. This means ensuring that even the LINKS
on our member sites, do not lead to sites that dishonour Him.
For example, you may be involved
in a Prison Ministry, which is a
fantastic work for God! But I am sure you would not want to lead other
Christians, especially those not prepared, to some of your unconverted
Prisoners' web sites.

Our Objective?
TO TAKE THE WEB FOR CHRIST!
The more Christian
sites there are out there, the more of a
witness we are for our Lord.
The internet is filled with ugliness -
pornography, occult, wrong doctrines,
drugs, etc. Satan
is alive and well and thriving
in cyberspace; this darkness
must be stopped by the Light
of Christ! Our objective
is to overwhelm these people
with Christian
sites everywhere they turn.
